Aprilia RSV4 (2009 - 2012)

Aprilia’s RSV4 marked a major turning point for the Noale company: it was built around Aprilia’s first production four-cylinder engine, a compact 65-degree V4 created specifically with superbike racing in mind. The bike arrived as a homologation weapon for World Superbike and immediately gave Aprilia a new identity in the litre-class superbike fight, distinct from the Japanese inline-fours and Ducati twins it was taking on.

The early RSV4 is remembered for the way it blended a small, racebike-like chassis with a highly charismatic engine and unusually sophisticated electronics for the period. Its importance grew quickly through competition, with Max Biaggi and Aprilia using the RSV4 platform to build one of the defining World Superbike success stories of the early 2010s.
