Ford GT40 (1964 - 1969)

The GT40 was created with one goal: beat Ferrari at Le Mans. After Ford’s attempted purchase of Ferrari collapsed, the project became a matter of corporate pride, combining British chassis development, American V8 power and relentless endurance-racing refinement.

Its four consecutive Le Mans victories from 1966 to 1969 made it one of motorsport’s great revenge stories. The GT40’s low body, brutal speed and international development programme turned it into a symbol of what Ford could achieve when vast resources were focused on a single racing objective.
