Porsche 930 Turbo (1978 - 1989)

The 930 Turbo gave the 911 range a dramatic new identity. Its wide guards, whale-tail spoiler and turbocharged flat-six made it visually and mechanically more aggressive than the standard 911, while its sudden boost delivery gave it a fearsome reputation.

Its significance is that it created the 911 Turbo legend. The 930 was glamorous, difficult and fast, a car that demanded skill and respect. Every later 911 Turbo owes part of its image to the wild character established by this first generation.
