Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk

The UH-60 Black Hawk was created to replace the UH-1 Huey with a tougher, more capable utility helicopter for the U.S. Army. First flown in the 1970s, it offered twin-engine power, greater payload, better survivability and the ability to carry troops and equipment in demanding conditions.

Its legacy is built on constant use rather than a single famous moment. Black Hawk variants have served in assault transport, medical evacuation, special operations, search and rescue, naval work and disaster response. The design has become a global military helicopter standard because it can be adapted to so many missions.
