Honda NSR-500 HRC (1984)

The 1984 NSR500 was the beginning of one of Honda Racing Corporation’s greatest Grand Prix dynasties. Replacing the earlier NS500 triple concept, the first NSR500 introduced a V4 two-stroke layout that would become the foundation for Honda’s premier-class racing success for nearly two decades.

Honda records describe the 1984 machine as the origin point of the NSR500 series, and its first victory came early, at the Italian Grand Prix with Freddie Spencer. The model would evolve enormously over time, but the 1984 bike is historically important because it launched the platform that later became one of the dominant forces in 500cc Grand Prix racing.
